This is a book I created in Adobe Indesign, dedicated to my 91 year old grandfather who is an Italian chef/baker.

Create a book that includes a design system that consists of consistent themes throughout it’s entirety.

Since this book is dedicated to my grandfather, I chose to include all of his grandchildren’s birthdates from my father’s side of the family. Each spread has a birthdate included, adding a touch of family into the theme. I wanted the book to be image based with smaller columns that show recipes and cooking instructions. There are design elements that stay consistent across all spreads, which make the book cohesive in style. I chose one typeface that is dominant in the book, and a color palette that is subtle and doesn’t override the images and text.
